Who Is Eligible

  • All regular, U.S. Headquarter (Administrative) Employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week
  • All regular, full-time U.S. Field Salaried Employees who work a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Your lawful spouse of the opposite gender (does not include parties of a civil union)
  • Children through the end of the month they turn age 26

Note: Human Resources may request dependent status documentation prior to your coverage start date.

When Coverage Begins

  • New Employees: Coverage begins the first of the month following your date of hire, unless otherwise noted.
  • Annual Open Enrollment: Coverage begins on January 1.
  • Qualifying Work/Life Events: IRS regulations allow for benefit changes during the plan year only if you or your eligible dependents have a qualifying work/life event. You are responsible for notifying the Human Resources Department of your qualifying event. For the birth of a child, coverage is effective as of their date of birth. For all other events, coverage is effective the first of the month following the event.

Default Coverage If You Don’t Enroll

Your insurance coverage is important to us. If we do not hear from you during your enrollment period, you will be automatically enrolled in the following medical coverage:

  • Headquarter/Administrative Employees: No coverage
  • Field Employees: Aetna International High Deductible Health Plan

You will also be automatically enrolled in employee, spouse and child life insurance, employee disability and the basic employer retirement contribution to your 403(b), which takes effect after one year and 1,000 hours of service.

You will not be enrolled in dental, vision, health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA) or supplemental life/AD&D.
